Curious about what's next for Lumia?
Salute to Nokia, a company that truly innovates
Rumours about the almighty 41 megapixel device running on WP8 from Nokia, codenamed as ‘EOS’, have been around for a while, and now it’s time to look at some real stuffs, if you believe in these leaked pictures. A new twitter account named ‘ViziLeaks’ tweeted the picture above and showed us what the camera looks like on the EOS.
Another leak published on WPDang, a famous Chinese website focusing on Windows Phone, showed the back of the chassis of EOS, see below:
Are you excited?
It’s been a while since my last update in the blog, so, what’s been happening?
Well, this post is not about Nokia itself, but still has something to do with Nokia. Every Nokia fan must have heard something about Jolla, and last week, on 20th May, Jolla unveiled their hardware finally! A brand new concept being ‘the other half’ and a sleek design are very alluring, and most importantly, the Sailfish OS offers elegancy, fluency, and freedom that no other OS can match!
Without any hesitation, I ordered the phone and this is the first non-Nokia phone I will be using. To be honest, in my eyes it still has some Nokia attachment as being the successor of the legendary N9 and MeeGo!
Hope Jolla can have the phones and the best smartphone experience delivered in time by the end of the year, Come on!
Evleaks rocks again, and leaks the Lumia 925 which is supposed to be announced tomorrow, so, check it out:
With announcing the Asha 210, Asha 501, and Lumia 928, Nokia has been quite busy for the last couple of weeks, and this week is definitely going to be the climax for the recent tides of announcement for Nokia, as it will be holding an event at 10am (GMT+1) Tuesday this week in London. A teaser about the new generation of Lumia was aired last night on a TV channel here in the UK, showing off the lens and LED lights on the phone and claiming it is something ‘more than your eyes can see’.
The event will be livestreamed at Nokia Conversations, mark it in your calendar and you cannot miss it.
Nokia seems to be gearing up to get people excited about its upcoming new Lumia phone, namely Lumia 928, by releasing three video samples to show off its almighty optical stablisation capability, low-light performance and distortion-free audio recording. By the way, Samsung Galaxy SIII and iPhone 5 are easily drawfed by Lumia 928 in these tests.
Enjoy the videos below and see if the Lumia 928 captures your heart.
Finally, the much anticipated Asha 501 was unveiled by Mr. Stephen Elop in New Delhi today. It’s been about 1 year and a half since the first Asha product saw the light, and Nokia has been investing a lot in making Asha appealing to young people, developing countries, and people who don’t want to spend too much on the phone but still need access to the internet.
From keyboard to qwerty keyboard, from touch+keyboard to full touch, Asha has been evolving to meet people’s different needs for a phone. Aiming at a price point that around and below $100, and it proves very popular to date. However, the competition in feature phone and low-end smartphone market is fierce and Nokia needs something fresh to reinforce its position,
That where Asha 501 come in. Asha 501, defined as the first smartphone in Asha family, runs on the brand-new Asha platform and offers a refreshed UI that gives you what N9 has impressed you, SWIPE. You can switch between home screen and the ‘fastlane’, a log for your recent phone activities, by a single gesture, ‘swipe’. The Asha OS offers something that low-end Android handsets cannot match, namely, smoothness and responsiveness.
Nokia, with its superior Xpress brower, compresses the data in the cloud and save you up to 90% of data usage when you browse Internet. This is truly meaningful for a lot of people who have limited access to the mobile internet and make every dime you spent on data worthwhile.
Appwise, all the mainstream apps like facebook, twitter, and etc. have all made their ways to Asha OS; EA offers 40 free games as usual, Gameloft and other big names are working hard to bring more apps and games to this brand-new platform. What worth noting here is the data spent on facebook via an Asha 501 won’t be charged to your data plan, thanks to the partnership between Nokia and Facebook.
In terms of hardware, you can find 3.2 mp camera, WIFI, Bluetooth 3.0, expandable memory, 3.0″ 320X240 capacitive touch screen, and a battery offers up to 17 hours’ talk time and 48 days’ standby.
Last but not the least, this entry-level smartphone costs only $99!
About 15 hours before Nokia’s product announcement in New Dheli, @evleaks released a photo of what is supposed to be unveiled tomorrow, the Asha 501.
Have to say, this Asha phone is gorgeous! Sleek Lumia style and vibrant colours make Asha 501 stand out among the crowd for sure. We simply cannot hold our excitement for this charming baby, can we?
Nokia Conversations has already teased about the event by saying ‘Ready to add some colour to your week?’. A bright yellow picture was shown in the blog indicating the upcoming product offers something colourful.
Nokia Conversations , the official Nokia blog, will hold a webcast for the event tomorrow at GMT 6:30, so, it’s time for setting the alarm now, :P.
Stay tuned for more details about Asha 501.
Here we go, dear fans, Nokia finally pulls off its own teaser about the new product, the Lumia 928.
Camera, again, is the selling point of Lumia 928, and it is claimed to outperform leading smartphones in all kinds of lighting conditions.
You won’t believe this? Check it out:
We strongly believe this Lumia 928, exclusive for Verizon, has a gobal sibling which is currently codenamed as ‘Catwalk’. As May 14th is just around the corner, let’s behold and see what exactly Nokia will bring to us in its Lumia event in London.
Dear readers, watch this latest promo for Nokia Lumia 920 from Windows Phone team, it is indeed a nice try in terms of marketing and worth a good laugh!
Yes, after months of speculations and leaking information of the upcoming Lumia device, finally we are getting there. Nokia will hold a special event in London to unveil its next product/products, and story of Lumia certainly will continue.
Lumia 928 might see the light in London during this event, but it makes more sense if Nokia teams up with Verizon for an event in the US, as Lumia 928 is said to be a Verizon-exclusive phone for US market. It’s very likely for ‘Catwalk’ to be shown on May 14th and replace Lumia 920’s duty of being a flagship phone. How about ‘EOS”? It might be there as well, but less likely, as Nokia needs schedule its star product smartly to compete with Apple’s iPhone 5s or 6 (whatever). Tom Warren of the Verge said this event can also be prepared for a Nokia tablet as well, which certainly would be a surprise for all Nokia fans!
Anyway, just 19 days to wait, stay tuned for more updates.
